Trauma-Sensitive Yoga for Stress and Anxiety Practices are yogic practices designed to calm the nervous system, relieve stress and anxiety and with consistent practice they enable us to have more control over our stress and anxiety levels, re-gaining autonomy over our own lives.
With gentle, slower yoga asana practices, breath work practices that sooth stress and anxiety. Grounding practices to stabilise and reorient our focus and bring us back into the present moment.
The practices I work with teach the nervous system that it is safe in the present moment.
Yoga supports the nervous system by shifting our nervous system out of fight, flight and freeze mode - moving us into calm, mindful mobilisation.
With somatic awareness we can shift our bodies back into physical movement and out of freeze mode and flop mode.
With breath work practices (Pranayama) we can teach our nervous system that it is safe in the present moment, re-connect with our surroundings and better manage dissociative states and ruminative thinking processes.
Overtime with consistent practice, teaching the nervous system regulation. Minimising emotional and psychological overwhelm and developing a whole skill set of practices that you can use in your day to day life.
This is what Yoga for stress and anxiety is all about⦠I look forward to sharing these practices with you.

It is important for your Yoga teacher to know before hand if you have any injuries. Please inform me if this is the case. It is your responsibility as a student to be mindful of your own physical limitations during class. Please tend to your own physical needs and donβt push your self beyond your limits. Yoga Asana is a mindful practice, not a competitive one.
