An Introspective Evaluation of The Parallels Between Sankhyan Metaphysics & Quantum Psychics & What This May Mean for Human Evolution and Spiritual Development.
The following assignment is a dissertation comparing The Metaphysics of Sankhyan Philosophy with the modern day scientific perspective of Quantum Physics. With reference to contemporary Quantum Electronics, discussion on frequency, frequency healing, alchemy and witchcraft and Siddhis, advanced spiritual, human gifts one trains the mind to attain but can also be born with. I will discuss the parallels between these topics and make connections between normal human states and abilities such as intuition, mental health conditions and the attention network. I have used the Subtle Body; An Encyclopedia of Your Energetic Anatomy Dale (2009) for my inspiration on The Subtle Body. I have expanded on the wisdom of The Yoga Sutras Bryant (2009) and Scientific references on particle theory and quantum electronics, giving my own personal insights into how these subtle laws of nature may work and effect. I have also given reference to current popular culture themes and beliefs around consciousness with reference to Podacasters. Some of the themes of the following dissertation take a more esoteric turn for example, links to witchcraft, spells, quantum electronics and social contagion. Which I appreciate may not be to everyone’s taste. However, I think the ideas are extremely relevant when discussing the nature of reality and consciousness. I have written some personal insights on my spiritual endeavours, in order to provide the reader with an understanding of these philosophies and practices. I have also included Sanskrit translations of English words for the reader so that they can understand the similarities between these scientific and philosophical concepts.
In Quantum Physics two particles must exist in two places at once in order to exist (Lloyd, 2007; Cited in, Dale 2019 & Horodecki, 2009). The laws of Quantum Physics can enable us to understand those of subtle body nature and Yoga Philosophy metaphysics, including the nature of the mind, its tendencies and manifestations. For example, Quantum Physics tells us that one particle must exist in two places, this can be physically or metaphysically, within the mind. I’m sure you’ve had the experience before whereby you’ve said the exact same thing as someone right next to you at the same time, or you’ve had a dream about someone you’ve not heard from in a while, only to wake to a call or a message from them. Perhaps this penetrates much deeper for you and you even have troubling dreams about a friend or family member that you haven’t spoken to in a while and you’ve begun to wonder whether they are experiencing some troubles, only to find out at a later date that they had indeed been having a difficult time. Interestingly, such phenomena appear to increase within the individual’s mind as one’s spiritual practices develop. A quantum particle existing in two places at once could seemingly be existing in other worlds perhaps, dimensions. I’m not speaking physically about one world billions of miles away here, what I'm suggesting is other parallel planes living simultaneously at the ‘same time’. Speaking of which, I call to mind The Vibhutis (Siddhis) which are developed through the practice of ‘Samyama’ on particular objects (Bryant, 2009) whereby Nath Yogis have been said to develop the ability to ‘travel through time’ with their own minds. In doing so they essentially train their minds to travel through consciousness whilst simultaneously still existing on the physical planes. There is Tri-Kala-Jnatvam; the ability to perceive events across past, present and future enabling a person to understand and influence time and events; Prapti, The ability to present oneself in multiple locations at once, enabling one to manipulate or observe events in different times; and Prakamya, The ability to manifest one's desires which apparently can be used in conjunction with the other Siddhis to manipulate events.
The Subtle Energies penetrate the deeper layers of consciousness which are unseen to the natural eye, or any apparatus that man has been able to make as of yet. For some reason this makes this ancient wisdom hard to believe for the average person. This does not mean that they do not exist, far from it. Microorganisms could not be seen before the microscope existed, but they killed people and created disease and life regardless (Dale, 2019). Furthermore, the average person perceives consciousness at a superficial level. As one's emotional, psychological and spiritual development unfolds, or gets deeper we begin to ‘see things’ others cannot. This is not as mystical, or psychotic as it sounds. As we develop our abilities of the mind through Yoga practice; our general level of existence becomes deeper. In a more intellectual sense, an individual who has studied the mind for a long period of time can now see other people’s mental problems without much effort, or analysis. Often, we find people born with this tendency, or ability. We simplify such abilities because society has learned throughout its historical conditioning to fear the mystical and developed an ignorant, egocentric perspective towards such concepts, fearing the unknown. We use terminology like, ‘She’s really good at reading people’, or ‘You can really see through people’s bullshit’, or ‘They're really talented’ to make sense of such gifts without appreciating their spiritual significance and intellectual depth. This hinders our capacity for spiritual curiosity and is a hindrance to our spiritual and intellectual evolution as a species. If an individual is born with the intellectual and spiritual ability to understand and dissect the deeper layers of other people's behavior, unconscious and subconscious issues then this individual has most certainly been born on this planet with a subtle body energy system that is vibrating at a specific frequency to enable this kind of automatic functioning. Furthermore, one can train the mind to be more in-tune with a certain degree of information in a specific area like a Psychologist, or a Yogi does but more likely than not their abilities won’t mount to the individuals who are born ‘with the gift’. Furthermore, a psychologist may typically be functioning from a head centred space, using much of their Third Eye (Ajna Chakra) and Crown Chakra (Sahasrara Chakra) to enable them to process information they are receiving from their environment and access deeper layers of the mind. Often, Yogis are trained to function from The Heart Center (Anahata Chakra). There are many meditations that have this intended purpose. One of which involves imagining one is walking around as if one’s head has been chopped off, taking this a step further to imagine everyone one sees as a headless being (OSHO, 2012). Osho explains that this results in a person's object of focus automatically shifting towards the heart (OSHO, 2012). This then activates certain frequencies and tendencies that the Anahata Chakra vibrates at and resonates with, such as compassion, deeper connection, and oneness. I would recommend trying this meditation out. I found it very fun and first read about it after I shaved my hair off. I thought it was really interesting as after I shaved my hair, I started to look at everyone and perceive them as if they were bald. I realised that not many people look attractive with no hair, so I tried out the meditation and found it was interesting for this reason. You can experiment with the body like this. Another meditation I found interesting was one where you meditate on the neurological branch travelling down the spine. At first you imagine the spinal structure and then gradually your object of awareness stays with the spine (Osho, 2012). This meditation supposedly produces profound orgasms during sex and is a Tantric practice. Again, I thought this was interesting as I had just experienced something quite similar but contrary to this. Several nights before coming across this wisdom I had two occurrences whilst falling asleep whereby I was fantasising about gaining vengeance on two people who had brought me significant harm in my life, causing me trauma. I witnessed the emotion of anger shoot down my spine, the pure, dark emotion rippling through my nervous system. I thought I better avoid this meditation practice if I'm already having such an intense Tantric experience.
What is Subtle Energy:
Subtle Energy connects the ethereal field to the human body, extends beyond time and space, can change form and shape and occupies multiple spaces at the same time (Dale 2019). A great example of how this principle may potentially operate on a more superficial layer of The all expansive consciousness that pervades the entire universe may be visible though the research of popular western psychology and can be described as emotional contagion, psychological and social contagion and is also known as memetics (Marsden, 1998) a term society has now shortened to ‘Meme’. Levy & Nail (1993) described 3 types of emotional contagion; Disinhibitory contagion, echo contagion and hysterical contagion. For the purpose of this dissertation I will focus on hysterical contagion, its definition and manifestations and how this is connected to subtle energy transmission. Hysterical contagion refers to the unwanted transmission of a behavior, affect (mood), or thought process within a network of ‘people’ with no known cause or reason. As opposed to echo, or disinhibitory contagion this type of contagion is unwanted and undesirable (Levy & Nail, 1993). I’d like the reader to take a moment to ponder this concept. Can you think of anything within human behaviors, society, or consciousness within the past two decades that is representative of these phenomena? Perhaps, the rise in mental health diagnoses comes to mind? The rise in eating disorders, obsessive compulsive disorders, or any mental health condition for that matter. Now ponder a little further, if we take a small look at disinhibitory contagion and echo contagion behavior's, there are disordered human behaviors and social trends that if enacted externally have the specific outcomes related to hysterical contagion.
Disinhibitory contagion, essentially results in disorder and traumas to the Chakra System. However, the concept poses a ‘Chicken Before The Egg’ problem because disordered behaviour is also expressive of an out of balance Chakra system as well as a result of it. It’s almost as if subtle energies from the deeper layers of metaphysical consciousness (Ishrava/Prakriti) are expressing themselves through human behaviour. If we can learn to master, or re-master these technologies then we can arrive at a state of total equilibrium within the individual mind, collective consciousness and society as a whole. We could even reach a state of total, universal bliss on this planet.
Particle Theory:
Dale (2019) & Oerter (2006) Particle Theory explains how all matter, be it solid, liquid, gas or electrical signals vibrate, within a variety of different directions, speeds and intensities. All matter consists of these vibrating particles, they are always moving, and they can only interact with matter by the transference of energy. Contrary to particles are waves, which have three interpretations;
Ways in which particles transfer energy from one particle to another by disturbance through a medium to another without making any changes to the medium.
A picture of the disturbance over time.
A single cycle representing the disturbance.
Waves have an impact on matter by interacting with the matter by creating new waves, or patterns so to speak. Reflected waves cancel each other out causing destruction.
When particles are operating in their wave-like sense they oscillate between two points, creating a field of energy. Superposition regarding waves means that a wave field can cause an effect in another object, resulting in a new effect within itself (Gudder, 1970). This creates new movements, or change and can even help us to understand how music is created. For example, we combine two or more frequencies to form a harmony.
This all sounds ever so similar to how Patanjali describes the nature of consciousness in The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali (Bryant, 2009). Sutra 111.9 ‘The state of restraint, Nirodha, is when there is disappearance of outgoing (worldly) Samskaras and the appearance of restraining Samskaras (imprints of the mind). These emerge in the mind at the moment of restraint’. He discusses three types of transformations within the mind, speaking of how change and movement are at the core of all living objects (The Gunas). I believe that this text can provide insight into conditions such as Schizophrenia whereby one has some sort of unhinged and uncontrolled ability to access Prakritik energy, prior to developing restraints of the mind. I also think this concept can be applied on a social-psychology level and even considers my previous comments on social-contagion, memetics and hysterical contagion. For example, we are currently living in an age whereby there has been a drastic rise in the diagnosis of ADHD (attention-deficit-hyperactivity disorder) and society appears to be experiencing some confusion as to why this is happening, is it hysteria? Is it a self fulfilling social prophecy? Are we killing our brain cells with social media and stimulants? Yes, yes and yes. However, if one is to reverse engineer the process of how these mental disorders occur within society, on an intellectual level you can notice the subtleties, or subtle energies of nature being expressed through human consciousness. We have simply as a race become overwhelmed with the desire to move forward, achieve, expand, grow, create (naturally) at a rate that has exceeded the development of our own mind (Chitta) to cope with. We have developed society before we developed our executive functioning, and the rest of our nervous system which would enable us to be able to manage our developing outward behaviours. We must now train our minds enough to be able to manage this, which we now appear to be doing. Furthermore, the brain grows from front-back (Cerebellum-Prefrontal cortex(PFC)) and is typically traumatised from back-front. With the PFC continuing to develop its higher cognitive-functioning, language and intelligence for several more decades (Uytun, 2018). It’s no wonder that traumas in these early teen-adult years can cause a variety of mental health conditions, including ADHD, Schizophrenia and OCD (Uytun, 2018).
Perhaps, there is another collective-unconscious underlayer here that can help us to understand why we are attempting to re-create consciousness through technology, potentially as a back up plan. Maybe, we will create an artificial intelligence that can merge with our consciousness and replace our default mode networks, making the field of psychiatry obsolete and propelling consciousness forward evolutionarily.
In Yoga Philosophy, The Sankyhan School of thought has a metaphysical perspective known as Satkarya. This school of thought considers all of reality that has materially manifested as a transformation of the underlying causes of the Gunas of Prakriti. Praktiti is the source energy of manifest reality and the Gunas shape the materialistic representation of form of such an object. Any change is a result of the change in the Prakritik characteristics which are subject to characteristics, condition and state, or better known in Eastern Philosophy as Dharma, Laksana and Avastha (characteristics, state and condition). There is a famous thought experiment in Sankhyan philosophy to help explain this to the average person, ‘The Clay Pot analogy’ (Bryant, 2015). Say for instance, one has a clay pot, or maybe just some clay at hand that they decide to mould into a clay pot. The clay pot has now assumed the characteristics of a clay pot, but it was once just some clay and still is some clay in the shape of a pot but it now functions as a pot with specific purposes and usages related to what a pot is capable of ‘doing’. The pot has a Dharmic quality to potentially be clay and it has the potential Dharmic quality to become many other forms, a fruit bowl, perhaps even a pretty vase. The clay is the Dharmin, the possessor, its innate characteristic is clay. The same principle can be applied to gold, gold has the capacity to become a ring ect. This can also be applied to any living being. I am a human, I have the capacity to change the state of my own mind and the conditions in which I live internally and externally but essentially my most visibly known form is human. Interestingly, these changing principles can be applied to current social issues such as gender transitioning, whereby a person’s internal conscious state could potentially be shifting to the more feminine or masculine state of consciousnesses characteristics or (Yin & Yang). Essentially mother nature, or the Prakritik energy source is being expressed in this way through the internal states and conditions of the mind but when you remove all of these changes and states, each person’s depper characteristic state is that of a human. Unfortunately, you will never be able to take the form of an alien in this lifetime, unless you develop the mystical powers to do so.
This same principle is being applied in a subcategory of quantum physics called quantum electronics and it’s what enables scientists and physicists to create electronics, programming, binary coding and the very device I am typing on now. These fields are known as Quantum Computing, Quantum coding, Quantum Key Distribution and Superdense Coding (Caves, 2013). I will expand on this knowledge later on in the text with reference to a recent lecture I attended and some interesting viewpoints from my favourite podcaster. To continue my previous understanding of Yoga Metaphysics; The Laksana, the state of an object is known, or understood as its position in time. A pot can exist here and now, it could have a history, a past and it could yet to be created, moulded, from mud and water. The Avastha refers to the specific conditions of the pot, or material object regardless of its position in time; it could be new, old, dirty, clean, pretty and painted, grey and scratched. This helps one to understand all objects in manifest reality as going through a constant state of change in regards to characteristics, state and condition. The Point the Sutras make in regards to this explanation is that regardless of the constant flux and change in characteristics, state and condition of reality, consciousness itself always returns to its original state (Bryant, 2015). The underlying material does not change, only the form in which it is represented does so. This leads onto the concept that the past and future are existing simultaneously alongside the present and perhaps if one can connect their consciousness to the higher Praktitik energy one could manipulate time and space. Interestingly, whilst I was last night I was laying in bed ruminating listening to the sound of bass music rock and rumble through my street. After hours of stress induced cognitive issues attempting to write this very piece of work I suddenly experienced a huge upload of the intellectual information I was trying to retrieve from my brain yesterday, only something interesting happened. I witnessed before my resting eyes what I saw as how one can manipulate time using these very metaphysical principles and I was able to understand this from a quantum physics perspective. I saw the particles as circles in circles and I saw them move through the centre of one another as waves but essentially dissolving into smaller particles as they traveled in wave-like motion to their original source. One can then use the object of their intent, to remould the characteristics of the events, of time and space, collecting Siddhis (mystical powers) along the way. I felt disappointed that the thoughts drifted as soon as I became conscious of what I was witnessing and thinking in my mind but I realised that I must let it go and allow this information to reveal itself to me when it and I were both ready. Then as I sat down today to start studying I opened up The Yoga Sutras on the correct page, I was able to find the information on metaphysics that I needed to write this piece. My thoughts on this experience interested me even more. I noticed that the cognitive issues in my mind that are caused by traumatic ruminations are causing a latency effect in my ability to retrieve and process information, in turn affecting my ability to engage with my love for academic writing and many other things, my dream of being a musician, my ability to be present. The mess on the windows is very dirty and this can cause a delay in information upload and download, often resulting in a sudden burst of information and an excess overflowing of energy in the Third Eye and Crown Chakras.
Bryant (2015) Dasgupta discusses the loosening of Prakriti’s barriers making interesting links to physics which I will expand on. He says the following ‘Production of effect only means an internal change of the arrangement of atoms (anus) in the cause, and this exists in it a potential form, and thus a little loosening of the barrier which was standing in the way of the happening of such a change or arrangement will produce the desired new collocation-the effect. This doctrine is called satkarya-vada ie: that the Karya or effect is sat or existent even before the casual operation to produce the effect was launched’. The difference between one object and another is literally its arrangement of atoms (anus). Once a tree dies it returns back to its Prakritik nature and is rearranged into dirt, with the potential to now be moulded into a clay pot.
The text expands on this with reference to the Upanishads stating that from one lump of clay one can understand everything made of clay (Bryant, 2015).
It is this metaphysical knowledge that helps us understand how the Yogis are able to manipulate physical reality in order to reshape the past, or acquire what may be perceived as mystical powers. They are essentially bypassing the laws of nature, the layers, the characteristics to get back to the original source and remoulding its state before returning. This is what I saw in my mind whilst I lay there ruminating. These same principles are in fact being applied today in Quantum physics and Electronics and can be applied to our very own healing, or our derailment as a species.
Quantum Electronics, Spells, & WitchCraft & AI
In regards to Quantum Physics and electronics, it is of my understanding that scientists and physicists are using the same structures and philosophical underpinnings as the Yogi’s developed in order to create technology and essentially manipulate consciousness from the outside in, or from the inside out depending on which way you perceive it. I recall a recent lecture I attended in which a physicist described ‘The Schrodinger's Cat Experiment’, a thought experiment which is similar to the Chicken and Egg analogy. It encourages the individual to think about reality in terms of cause and effect and what came first the observer or the observed (Schridinger, 1935). In the thought experiment a hypothetical cat is placed in a hypothetical box and is considered to have the potential to be both dead and alive whilst it is unobserved, it’s fate is predicted by a subatomic event which may or may not occur, dependant on whether the cat activates a sub-atomic bomb in the box (Fine, 2004). This thought experiment helps one to understand the nature of waves and particles and is a theme that is replicated throughout human behaviour, as discussed earlier on in this text.
It was this lecture by Imogen Forbes, IF.. Forbes, Quantum Electronics (14/04/2025) that hit an intellectual and spiritual nerve with myself. She went on to explain to the audience what Quantum Electronics was and how it works. How the base material metal is manipulated to create a web of consciousness, the scientists then send a message through computer coding into the system to create a specific message, or response. The Response elicits or requires a certain response or type of response from the user of the device. In turn creating a programme, device or app that has a direct purpose which is designed by a person who had the desire to programme, or create such a device. Which in-turn then has an effect-cause-effect relationship with consciousness by impacting the user's neural-transmission. Overtime, essentially altering the state of consciousness, human behaviour and society. My thoughts on this whilst I was sitting in the lecture…’Witch Craft’ is what came to mind. By coincidence the previous day I was sitting at home listening to my favourite podcaster Duncan Trussell Family Hour Podcast (Trussle & Boelli, 2025). Who was discussing the use of negative energy on social media algorithms and how it attracts more viewers and likes. Speaking of how The TikTok algorithm is programmed to have a positive response to negative input and feedback, create a positive feedback loop by sending the inputter more views and likes which further perpetuates the negative behavioural loop. He spoke of how this is like witchcraft and mind control. This caused me to think about something I already discussed whereby there is the potential for human consciousness to merge with AI and solve our problems of executive dysfunction which essentially is caused partly by AI in the first place, which was created by humans. This takes me back to the ‘Schrodinger's Cat’ thought experiment, and the Chicken and the Egg analogy, what came first and is AI the observer, the cat or the subatomic bomb in regards to the evolution of consciousness? This leaves me pondering whether human consciousness is under attack, or whether it’s attacking itself. Furthermore, Feldman, & Bartlett (2025, April 17) discussed how the human brain works much like this. Essentially the brain is an organ, made of a web of material which is for the most part un-programmed when it first emerges into its conscious state, with no ego-structure or Ahankara as it’s called in Sankhya. It is then throughout life, early development and nurturing that the brain develops its mind, its individual characteristics and is essentially programmed to its environment. Much like how the Sutras explain material existence (Bryant, 2009).
Alchemy & Quantum Mechanics:
‘The basis of physical reality does not lay within the physical universe but in the subtle planes and energies that run through everything’. James Oschoman PHD in Energy medicine, energetic healing, biofield healing, bioenergetic healing, chakra healing, aura healing, energy work, meridian-based healing, energy anatomy, vibrational medicine, subtle energy healing relate to certain vibrational and frequency based levels of energy Oschman (2002) Cited in; Dale (2019) . The book goes on to explain how MRI’S, FMRI and other medical equipment use energetic frequencies to measure the characteristics and functioning of the bodily organs and circulatory system. This coincides with my points about quantum physics and electronics and consciousness. One can even go as far as suggesting that these man made programmed machines use frequency to measure characteristics (Dharma), State (Laksana) and Condition (Avastha). This demonstrates that not only is there not much difference between Eastern and Western medicine but actually both are born from the same philosophical underpinnings and are parallel to one another.
In regards to particle theory and quantum physics all material in the universe has a vibrational frequency, it vibrates at a particular frequency necessary for its characteristics, state and condition, which can be applied to human consciousness and the mind (Vimal, 2009). In regards to our own human experience, physical and mental health; bad health occurs when these vibrations create a disharmonious frequency; and good health occurs when they are harmonious (Dale, 2019). I perceive this as harmonious to the natural characteristics of the being, for us that is human. One could also presume that the optimum highest state of harmony could be pure bliss, enlightenment, or even god-like qualities. The least optimum states being neurosis, psychosis, limbo and a living nightmare, or hell like qualities. The internal and external states and conditions resonate at a frequency that in turn affect the characteristics of the individual's health. In quantum physics waves that have a more dense and powerful force encite a bigger effect, or change on the particle (Spark, 2023). In regards to our own health we can think of this on a continuum between adverse traumatic events that cause a permanent change in neurological structure, or at the other end of the spectrum, love, bliss and deep harmony within ourselves and society. Furthermore, regarding the effects of trauma on the brain and its functioning, its neurological pathways are jolted by this sudden influx of powerful but toxic quantum energy, overwhelming the mind, the psyche and the subtle body. This fills the psyche up with unprocessed energy in regards to thought and un-integrated information which further impacts the subtle body functioning. For the mind is now full with so much information, not only is there more dirt to clean off of the windows (Vritti’s, of the mind), more material in a sense to shift through in terms of spiritual practice but I believe a latency effect occurs in regards to psychological functioning and processing. Linking this back to quantum physics and the clay pot analogy, one would have to find a way to separate the physical materials of the clay in order to reduce it gradually to its original state. Let’s say for the sake of this text that the original state of the clay is mud and water, even though we know the water consists of H2O and the mud consists of many different grains of dirt, stone and minerals that have built up over thousands of years. Say we want to separate the clay and the water we would need a specific appliance and heating technique to do so and by doing this reduction technique we would eventually be able to separate both materials which we could either now use to rebuild a new clay structure, or we could re-purpose them entirely. From my understanding of the quantum physics approach and the Sankhyan metaphysics view this is exactly what we are doing with meditation. Take my points on how trauma fills up the mind and re-structures the nervous system. It’s the same as adding more material onto the clay pot. By simply using the technique of meditation, focusing awareness on the breath we are applying this reduction technique towards our own minds, slowly reducing the material in thought and mind until we’re back to its original source of emptiness. Once here, it makes sense that one would be able to re-mould and rearrange the states of the mind. Much like the Nath Guru’s and Yogis have done in order to attain Siddhis. The Yogi’s by and by were able to gradually remove these layers of characteristics and conditions that operate on conventional reality, such as time, space and other characteristics of consciousness in order to get to the root source of consciousness Prakriti and re-arrange the particles and waves in order for their own consciousness to be re-arranged in such a way that they developed mystical powers (Bryant, 2009; Sutra 111.14). Much like the Sankhyan perspective I don’t consider much of this as mystical as the general public have been programmed into thinking over the past few centuries. The Yoga Sutras speak of how the Yogi’s essentially break down, or open the barriers of consciousness to attain these states, something that is a popular belief in academic subcultures regarding psychiatric conditions and psychedelic substances. It’s interesting how these are less mystified than Yogic Philosophy and Witch Craft despite similar experiences of the mind. I have briefly experienced time travel and psychic abilities, as a young child and and a young adult under different circumstances, when my brain was open, expansive and porous, not having quite yet developed the ego structure (Ahankara) or thinking patterns of day to day life, older throughout my teenage years under chronic stress, and as a young adult under the influence of MDMA. Furthermore, Jungian Psychology poses the idea that traumatised individuals have fractured egos that are absorbent and dissipate, more fractal and suggestive to their environments and essentially for individuals with complex trauma the veil between the conscious and unconscious is thinner than one would expect of a non-traumatized individual (Adler, Jung, Hull, Fordham, & Read, 2014). This essentially makes one more prone to more esoteric experiences like the one’s Yogi’s experienced and Schizophrenics alike.
In regards to conditions such as Schizophrenia, I believe the barriers of consciousness have become more open, more porous but there is a disorder in the ability to organise the structures of the content which these individuals are now able to access. Which I believe coincides with the psychiatric diagnostic principles that Schizophrenia is a disorder of disorganised perception Tandon et al (2013) and a split between the conscious and subconscious realms. Furthermore, I believe that most psychiatric conditions can be treated by training, or re-training one’s object of awareness. The Sutra’s articulate this by stating that ‘by sheer concentration a Yogi’s mind can spill out beyond it’s individualized containment (like Schizophrenia, psychedelics and trauma do), reconnect with it’s universal potential, and consequently influence or re-arrange the evolutes emerging from its macro nature as the universal mind’ (Bryant, 2019, Sutra 111.14). The difference here is the aspect of controlled, trained awareness that the Yogi’s have and to a certain extent it would appear scientists have in their applications of quantum electronics. Furthermore, this leads me to ponder the idea that the evolution of humanity is in the hands of some nerdy physicist and essentially his, or her desires, or deficits.
Music, Harmonics, Frequency & Geometry:
In regards to vibrational healing and frequencies there are certain frequencies that have been shown to have a positive, harmonious effect on the functioning of the subtle body. Resonating with certain points in the subtle body anatomy known as Chakras and Nadis, or in Chinese medicine Meridians. In order from top to bottom the Chakras and the frequencies that they resonate at are as follows; The Root Chakra, Mulahdhra 396Hz, Sacral Chakra Svadhisthana 417Hz, Solar Plexus Manipura 528Hz, Heart Anahata Chakra 639Hz, Throat Chakra Vishuddha Chakra 741Hz, Third eye Ajna Chakra 852Hz, Crown Sahasrara Chakra 963Hz. Each Chakra serves a certain purpose in relation to physical, emotional and psychological functioning, spins at a certain speed and is related to specific elements and colours as well as having its own geometric properties.
The metaphysics of vibrational healing medicine uses the intentional use of frequency to positively affect another frequency in order to bring an organism into balance. These types of energy healing practices use information and vibration together, much like quantum electronics does in order to create the very device you are reading this on (Caves, 2013 & Felix Flicker et al, 2025). On a much less subtle level this rule of thumb can be applied to how certain music takes us to a place of healing, grief, or nostalgia. The combination of tones sung at a certain octave on the keyboard, combined with the harmonics of the harp and the messages in the song lyrics create a spellbinding effect. To this day there are times when I will put on that old sad song I used to sing to my sisters, which I sang whilst they were away to get me through the grief and the loss of losing them. The words in the song I would direct to them like a message and I would use my ability to daydream, combined with focused effort to take me to a place in the metaphysical universe where I could be with them. I would use my voice for several years to heal through this experience of grief and there are still times that I intentionally go to that place. When I am feeling emotionally blocked or oppressed, this provides me with the release that I need. You can think of this in terms of trauma and blocked Chakras and how the combination of being gifted with Throat Chakra (Vishudda Chakra) abilities and third eye chakra abilities can be used for healing oneself, or be a detriment to one's day to day functioning. There’s no use walking around maladaptive daydreaming all day, but if you can clear the space through concentration practice (Dhrana), or what we’ve translated to mean ‘meditation’ in The West, one can begin to harness their abilities with intent.
Tillers Model & Quantum Entanglement
Professor Dr.William Tiller from Stanford University states that; A person can direct the flow of subtle energy with intention, the mind-electron interaction is effective over great distances, and subtle energy energies can be manifested by individuals where we can increase the size and numbers of electrons (Tiller 1997; Cited in, Dale 2019). I can relate to some of these points personally, you see all those years that I was away from my baby sisters, singing those same sad songs every night, using the intention to take my mind to this special place, my voice to heal. After 6 years of separation I discovered when I met my long lost sister that she had not only reached a very high grade on the piano but she was in fact singing that same song on the piano, taking herself to that special place where she could be with me and our baby sister. It also turned out that all of my younger siblings had the same fantasies in their minds as I did about how we would meet again. Interestingly, enough this links back to particle theory, in that two particles can exist in the same place at once. The fact that we were all able to intentionally take ourselves to this metaphysical realm to be with each other, without consciously knowing that the other person was doing so and from a place of pure love energy (Anahata Chakra) and focused intent is both philosophically and scientifically ineffable. We quite literally have twin particles living inside of our DNA and with intent of the mind we can communicate through space and time. This can be understood as Quantum entanglement; a phenomenon whereby two or more particles are connected through space and time so much so that they can share the same quantum state, regardless the of time and space separating them which can explain strong and supposedly unexplainable connections between siblings and draws on parallels between genetic coding in siblings and shared quantum state on entangled particles. ‘’If the state of one entangled particle is measured, the state of the other is instantaneously known, even if they are vastly separated’’. This was coined by Albert Einstein as ‘Spooky Action at a Distance’ (Einstein et al, 1935).
I hope that throughout this piece of writing I have provided the reader with a learning experience in regards to the parallels of Sankhyan Philosophy and Contemporary Quantum Mechanics as well as the other perspectives discussed in this piece of writing which were largely focused on the parallels of science and spirituality. I appreciate that I did not include much critique of the research I’ve discussed in this paper. However, I thought that it would be more of an interesting piece of work to include a more introspective investigation into how these subtle energies of nature work. I think this encourages the reader to investigate their own conscious experiences more and can help provide meaning to one's experience as well as the nature of reality from a scientific and philosophical perspective, both Eastern and Western.
